Currently I am: Glad that people have responded well to my work in Bhaiyya Ji. I’d describe the film as a look at perseverance, patience, and kindness.

On my playlist: Music by Bob Marley; Rimjhim Gire Sawan, by Kishore Kumar; Every Breath You Take, by The Police.

On my speed dial: My wife, Shabana Raza.

Today I’m craving: Meat bhaat.

A line that’s stuck in my head: Nivedan nahi, narsanhaar hoga. (There won’t be invitation, there will be genocide) from Bhaiyya Ji.

Next big splurge: Shoes.

Last thing I ordered online: Bengali food.

Advice I’d give my 18-year-old self : Calm down, everything will happen in its own time.

A secret skill I have: I cook meat curry better than anyone else I know.

A superpower I wish I had: To be able to get all the kids off the streets.

My favourite Sunday memory while growing up: My father used to cook amazing meat bhaat, no wonder I always crave it.

My most star-struck moment so far: Meeting the legend, Amitabh Bachchan.

Bajpayee’s favourite bad habit is enjoying a glass of Prosecco. (ADOBE STOCK)

My favourite bad habit: Sometimes, casually, I enjoy a glass of Prosecco.

If I could travel back or forward in time…: At my age, I don’t want to travel in time. I just want to travel back to my hometown and settle down to a quiet life. But it seems impossible.

A trait I despise in people: Behaving badly with women.

The actor never leaves his home without a bagpack. (ADOBE STOCK)

I won’t leave the house without…: My backpack.

The best thing about fame: People appreciate hard work when they see it.

The worst thing about fame: People jump on you and invade your privacy.
