The official promotional content for the film has referred to Geraldine's character as 'Mel', who is supposedly an aide to Julia Louis-Dreyfus' Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. However, numerous online detectives are persuaded that Mel is actually Melissa Joan Gold, a Marvel superhero known as Songbird. When questioned, Geraldine replies quite diplomatically. “There is not much I can disclose. But, I think it's wonderful that people are speculating about Mel's future. It's thrilling,” she states.

The European premiere of Thunderbolts occurred in London earlier this week, and even as the film's lead stars walked the red carpet, many online believe Geraldine outshone them all. The actress appeared on the red carpet in a glimmering black gown and has garnered numerous new admirers for it, with a lot of people referring to her as the new 'LOML' (internet shorthand for love of my life). “I had no clue,” Geraldine exclaims as we read some of the tweets to her, blushing slightly. “This is flattering. I am genuinely blushing about that,” the actress manages to articulate.

Thunderbolts is the MCU's inaugural antihero/villain-centric film as it centers on a group of outcasts attempting to thwart a larger menace. Directed by Jake Schreier, the movie also features Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, and Hannah John-Kamen. It is scheduled to be released in India on May 1 and worldwide on May 2.
