At the launch of her new Netflix film Dhoom Dhaam, actress Yami Gautam opened up about her filming experience, her views on marriage, juggling work and motherhood, and her admiration for the iconic Sridevi.

Yami talked about the grueling shooting schedule, mentioning that they filmed for almost 48 nights. She acknowledged how tough it was but highlighted the motivation that pushed her through.

“We were on set for nearly 48 nights… that’s a ton of night shifts,” she noted, recognizing the weariness that comes with such long hours. “At first, it feels exhilarating, but by the third night, you really start to feel it.” Still, the excitement of the project kept her and the crew energized. “What drove us was the sheer amount of work in the film—every moment needed to be perfect. With acting, comedy, and dialogues, there was so much to contribute that it kept us all on our toes.”

Yami described Dhoom Dhaam as a super fun, family-friendly flick, calling it a "popcorn film" that she had a blast making. “We had an amazing time on set, and I really hope the audience enjoys watching it just as much.”

She also touched on the subject of marriage, noting how Gen Z often feels anxious or scared about it. “Marriage isn’t something to be afraid of,” she reassured those who might be hesitant. “Gen Z tends to get worried too easily, but there’s really no need for that. It’s a wonderful journey. It all comes down to your partner and the connection you have. Feeling scared is totally normal, but don’t let it take over your life.”

In the film, Yami will be taking on a comic role, and fans can look forward to her unique take on it. When discussing her favorite female comedy performances, she expressed her admiration for the legendary Sridevi's work.

Yami shared her thoughts on Sridevi's influence, saying, “Sridevi was a comedy genius. She had this incredible ability to make any scene unforgettable just with her facial expressions and perfect timing. Her performances in Mr. India and ChaalBaaz were simply outstanding and one of a kind.”

Dhoom Dhaam, directed by Rishab Seth and featuring Pratik Gandhi, Yami Gautam, and Eijaz Khan, is set to hit Netflix on February 14th
