After a long time, Star Jalsha secured the Bengal topper position. Zee Bangla’s Phulki and Neem Phuler Madhu have been dominating the place for a long time. But this week, Geeta LLB beat them all. It topped the list with a TRP of 7.0. 

The serial’s success won the audience’s hearts from the beginning. It has now gone to Mumbai also. Geeta’s Hindi remake, Advocate Anjali Awasthi, will start on Thursday on Star Plus.

In fact, it was a tough few days for Hiya Mukherjee, who plays Geeta. She has been suffering from cough and cold. In an interview with Hindustan Times Bangla, she said, “I caught a cold. I had a fever yesterday. My character is such that I have to shout. The fever subsided, but the cough did not. Whenever it gets better, I have to speak in a bit of a high voice, and the voice gets cracked again.” 

How does she feel being the topper? Hiya said in a reserved tone, ‘We always did well in the TRP. But being the topper is obviously an extra delight.” Thursday means the report card for the television celebs. Does she get afraid? Hiya smiled, ‘I think a bit about what will happen. But I don’t get obsessed with TRP. I got many people’s love from the start, and that is all. But who will not be happy if they do well in the TRP?’ 

The new promo of Geeta LLb has lots of spices. The task to save the honor of her in-law’s house is on Geeta. Hiya said ‘The credit goes to Snehasish Chakraborty. I know only the promo and nothing else. I am more in suspense than the audience–what new storyline will Sir send tonight? I think about whether I can perform that properly.’ 

What is her opinion about Shritama Mitra’s Anjali Awasthi? Hiya said, “I loved the promo. My best wishes to the team, and of course to Shritama. I want all of them to do wonderful work.”
