Tamil director Gautham Vasudev Menon has frequently faced inquiries regarding the release status of his highly anticipated spy action-thriller, Dhruva Natchathiram, featuring Chiyaan Vikram. Last year, both the filmmaker and the superstar's fans were optimistic when a release date was announced, only to see it postponed once again.
In an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Menon, who is preparing for the release of his Malayalam directorial debut, Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse, provided an update on the release plans for Dhruva Natchathiram this year.

Since 2023, the film's launch has been delayed due to financial challenges associated with the high-budget production, which was filmed in locations including Slovenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, and the UAE, as well as parts of Tamil Nadu.
The director has now indicated that he has resolved most of the obstacles hindering the film's release. “I have nearly addressed all the financial concerns and legal issues surrounding the film. I had to take full control of the project from my partners who were initially producing it. My intention in acting in films was to reinvest in this project to ensure its completion. We have successfully achieved that, and the film has now received its certification,” Gautham stated.
Regarding the film's release, which also stars Ritu Varma and Simran, the director remarked, “Although it has been in production for six years, it was originally slated for release last year. We announced a release date, but we were unable to meet it. However, this year, we are hopeful that within a couple of months, we will finally bring it to the audience.”

Gautham expressed his thorough enjoyment in the filmmaking process, particularly in his collaboration with Mammootty. “I was fully engaged, and it was a wonderful experience for me. Honestly, after a considerable period, I found great pleasure in being on a film set,” he remarked in an exclusive interview.
