Ranveer Allahbadia is currently facing several FIRs due to his controversial remarks made on Samay Raina's show, India's Got Latent. In response to this situation, various comedians are expressing their opinions. Some are creating reels to show their support, while others are attempting to incorporate the incident into their upcoming performances.

Comedian Gaurav Kapoor recently shared a clip from his stand-up routine in which he addressed the ongoing controversy. He expressed the view that Ranveer's apology was issued too hastily. Gaurav highlighted the trend of comedians being pressured by event organizers to cancel their shows in order to mitigate security threats, yet he appears to remain undeterred by these challenges.

‘Abe ruk ja’

He holds the view that the entire controversy surrounding India's Got Latent has been exaggerated. “What a mess this has become! It’s really not that significant. It happened, and it’s out there,” he remarked.

He further humorously suggested that perhaps Ranveer was a bit too hasty in issuing his apology. “I don’t like to kick someone when they’re down, but let’s make an exception this time. Ranveer, my friend, the controversy arose at noon, and by 2 PM, he had already apologized. In just two hours? I don’t even apologize to my father that quickly,” he commented. “Hold on a second! Pay a lawyer and consult them first,” he added. Gaurav indicated that Ranveer's desire to take responsibility contributed to the ensuing turmoil.

Additionally, Gaurav jested that Ranveer appears to be the type who would have quickly aligned with the British during the struggle for Indian independence after just one reprimand. He attributed this apologetic demeanour to Ranveer's Mumbai background, suggesting that someone from Delhi would likely refuse to admit fault outright.

Gaurav's followers commended him for quickly coming up with a set on the controversy. “Aapda ko aavsar me badal diya bhai ne,” wrote one. “Bro cracked the whole controversy,” wrote another.

What's the controversy

The controversy erupted following comments made by Allahbadia during an episode of India's Got Latent, which has since been removed, featuring Samay Raina and other panelists. In response to the ensuing backlash, Raina took down all associated videos, while Allahbadia reported that he and his family had received death threats.

In the meantime, First Information Reports (FIRs) have been filed against them in the states of Maharashtra and Assam.

For a week, Allahbadia's remarks have been at the forefront of media coverage, with the influencer and other participants facing police complaints in both Mumbai and Guwahati.

The matter has also been addressed in Parliament, where members of the Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology expressed their concerns regarding Allahbadia's comments, advocating for strict actions to hold him accountable and to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Additionally, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned Allahbadia, Raina, and fellow panellists Mukhija, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani, along with the show's producers Tushar Poojari and Saurabh Bothra, to appear before it on February 17 in New Delhi.
