Garcelle Beauvais surprised her followers by declaring her departure from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Tuesday. In a video posted on her Instagram, the 58-year-old actress disclosed that she is exiting the well-known Bravo reality show after five seasons of participation.

Why did Garcelle Beauvais leave RHOBH?

“Hey, guys. So, I have some news. I have decided to leave Beverly Hills,” Beauvais began the statement she shared with her 1.4 million followers. “It’s been a wild ride,” she went on, adding, “I mean.. some amazing things have happened, and some hard things have also happened — but it’s been a ride nevertheless.”

The reality star then revealed the reason behind her decision to quit the long-running show, saying, “One of the reasons why I’m leaving is my family, my boys.” Beauvais explained that her sons' last year of high school is next year, adding that she wants to “ be a part of that.”

Beauvais welcomed her twin sons Jax Joseph Nilon and Jaid Thomas Nilon, 17, in 2007 with CAA agent Michael Nilon, whom she was married from 2001 to 2011. She is also mom to rugby player Oliver Saunders, 32, her first child, whom she welcomed with ex-husband Daniel Saunders in 1991.

Her decision to depart from RHOBH was largely influenced by the “exciting” new projects she is currently “developing, producing, and acting in.” “I can’t share any details at the moment, but you will find out soon,” Beauvais informed her followers. She also expressed her appreciation to Bravo, NBC Universal, and the show's executive producer, Andy Cohen.

“Andy Cohen has mentioned that I am welcome to return at any time; the door will always be open, so you never know, I might make a surprise appearance in the future,” Beauvais remarked. She wrapped up her message by thanking her fans.

“To my fans, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks,” she stated, adding, “You have supported me, cheered for me, and at times even advocated on my behalf. This means a great deal to me, and I hope you will continue to join me on this journey.”

Beauvais' supporters inundated the comment section with expressions of affection and disbelief regarding the news. One fan remarked, “Oh my God! Garcelle, we will truly miss you! You brought immense integrity, warmth, and humor to the franchise.” 

Another fan commented, “Your presence meant so much to us (you know what I mean). You embodied class, grace, and beauty. We will miss you dearly!” A third fan referred to it as the “end of an era.” Additionally, one distressed supporter expressed, “My heart has shattered into countless pieces.”

Another individual added, “You were a significant reason we resumed watching. It’s disheartening to see you leave, and I’m uncertain if we will continue watching; you will be greatly missed.”
