Dev is busy with his Puja release, Tekka. This is the first time after Zulfiqar that he will be seen in a film directed by Srijit Mukherji. Tekka also features Swastika Mukherjee, Rukmini Maitra, and others. The film is produced by Dev Entertainment Ventures.

On Ganesh Chaturthi, Dev prayed for good sense to prevail among the citizens. The actor brought a new idol of Ganesh and had a puja at the office of Dev Entertainment Ventures. He shared the photo and asked for good sense from everyone. Previously, at the mass demonstration called by the Artists' Forum against the RG Kar crime, the superstar advised to teach the sense of 'good touch' and 'bad touch' to men instead of women. 

A few days back, a pregnant elephant was burnt alive in the state. This incident was mentioned in many celebrities' posts. Swastika Mukherjee, Saheb Chatterjee, Tathagata Mukherjee, Anindya Chatterjee, and others shared photos of a bloody Ganesh. A few days back, Kanchan Mullick teased the junior doctors regarding their salary and bonus. Kunal Ghosh trolled Arijit Singh. Netizens trolled Tollywood celebrities. Rituparna Sengupta was bullied a few days back while going to join a protest demonstration at Shyam Bazar. Dev condemned all of them. 

Kunal trolled Dev also. In Ghatal Hospital's dialysis unit, Dev's name appeared as the inaugural person, instead of the CM Mamata Banerjee. He wrote on social media 'AS the inaugural person, it is the MP instead of the CM! This is called a superstar.' 

DEv retorted to Kuna's statement by saying on social media 'I asked Didi for dialysis and city scan machines in Ghatal Hospital. She virtually announced it in March. I opened the machines as asked by the hospital authority. I think common people, rather than any superstar, MP, CM, or spokesperson, will benefit.' He also said that it was better to not comment without verifying any claim. 

Dev's fans are happy with his stand. They claim that Dev is different from others.
