Actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran made an unexpected revelation regarding his film L2: Empuraan, which features Mohanlal, on Sunday. He introduced character #7, Boris Oliver, and disclosed that the role will be portrayed by English actor Jerome Flynn, renowned for his performance as Bronn in Game of Thrones.

Prithviraj unveiled a new poster showcasing Jerome's portrayal of Boris from the film. Additionally, he shared a video featuring the actor discussing his experience in the role. In the video, Jerome introduced himself, stating, “I portray Boris in Empuraan or L2:E. I cannot quite recall how I became involved in this project, but I am immensely grateful for the opportunity, as it has provided me with a completely unique experience compared to what I am accustomed to in the UK or the US. Being part of the Mollywood culture and experiencing it firsthand has been truly remarkable.”

Jerome further expressed that working in India held particular significance for him. He elaborated, “It is especially meaningful to me because India has been a vital and cherished part of my journey. I spent several years visiting here in my late 20s and early 30s, primarily for spiritual retreats. The entire experience of being in India has profoundly transformed my life for the better. Therefore, taking on this role felt akin to returning home.”

The actor also mentioned that although he did not film any scenes in India, he still felt a connection to the country. He remarked, “The atmosphere on set, despite never having travelled to India, resembled being in the midst of a bustling Delhi roundabout. There was a beautifully orchestrated chaos, and everyone was incredibly kind and passionate about their work. It made this one of the most enjoyable projects I have ever undertaken.”

Jerome concluded the video by expressing his eagerness for the audience to see the film, stating, “I cannot reveal too much about my character, except to mention that he plays a significant role in Khuresh’s journey. I sincerely hope you all enjoy my character and the film as much as I have enjoyed being a part of it.”

Fans were unable to contain their excitement after viewing the video. One individual commented on Instagram, “Damn bro cast from GOT.” Another remarked, “Ser Bronn of the Blackwater.” A fan reminisced about his character from Game of Thrones, stating, “Ith nammde Bronn alle one of the greatest swordsman of GOT. (He is Bronn, one of the greatest swordsmen of GOT).” A humorous comment read, “Prithvi promised him a castle.” Many fans expressed their enthusiasm by leaving fire and mind-blown emojis beneath the video.

For those unfamiliar, Jerome is widely recognized for his portrayal of Bronn in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones. He has also appeared in productions such as Soldier Soldier, Ripper Street, and Black Mirror, in addition to films like John Wick: Chapter 3—Parabellum and Edward II. L2: Empuraan is set to premiere in theaters on March 27 and will feature Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, Fazil, Nikhat Khan, and Sachin Khedekar.
