It was a significant occasion for Israeli actress Gal Gadot, though it was marred by opposing demonstrators. On Tuesday, she received her own 'Star' on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, located outside the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles. While Gadot was surrounded by family and Hollywood colleagues to celebrate this milestone in her career, the event was overshadowed by both Pro-Israeli and Pro-Palestinian protestors gathered outside the venue.
Protestors disrupt Gal's celebratory event
During the ceremony, as Gal's Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins and her first Hollywood co-star Vin Diesel expressed their admiration for her, protestors outside shouted a variety of slogans. Some displayed banners reading "Hamas No Mas," while others waved Palestinian and Israeli flags. One placard stated, "Qatar controls Hamas, free the hostages."
According to a report from Variety, attendees also chanted, "Up up with liberation, down down with occupation," and one individual remarked, "There’s no reason we should be celebrating an Israeli," in reference to Gal Gadot.
The ceremony commenced 15 minutes later than scheduled, with chants from the demonstrators resonating throughout the event.

Gal was accompanied by her husband, Jaron Varsano, and their four daughters: Alma, aged 13, Maya, aged 8, Daniella, aged 3, and Ori, who is 13 months old. Reflecting on her journey, Gal remarked, “I’m just a girl from a town in Israel. This star will serve as a reminder that with dedication, passion, and a bit of faith, anything can be achieved.”

Gal Gadot's support for Israel
Gal has long been an outspoken advocate for her homeland, Israel. Recently, she was honoured with an award from the Anti-Defamation League. During her acceptance speech, she expressed, “I never imagined we would witness a day filled with such death and destruction of Jews in our lifetime. Furthermore, I never thought we would see individuals in the streets of the United States and various cities worldwide not condemning Hamas, but rather celebrating, justifying, and cheering for the massacre of Jews.”
Currently, Gal appears in Disney's live-action adaptation of Snow White, portraying the role of the Evil Godmother, while Rachel Zegler, a prominent supporter of pro-Palestine views, plays the lead role of the princess. The film has been surrounded by controversy since its announcement but has received relatively positive initial reviews.
