Filmmaker Anil Sharma, who has both directed and produced the two installments of the romantic saga Gadar, has responded to Ameesha Patel's remarks regarding the sequel. Ameesha disclosed that she had consented to participate in the film with the understanding that her character, Sakeena, would eliminate the antagonist. However, Anil Sharma altered the climax of Gadar 2 without informing her.

What Anil Sharma said

During an interview with Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel, Anil addressed the assertions made by Ameesha, stating: "When she expressed her desire to travel to Pakistan, I advised against it, emphasizing that such a scenario was not feasible within the context of our story. I encourage the audience to reflect on whether that was a reasonable decision. Did she not proceed with the film after reviewing the script?"

He further remarked, "Which actor does not aspire to expand their role? Every actor desires that. However, it was not feasible in this situation. Is Pakistan a tourist destination where Sunny Deol would take everyone along? His son is trapped there; should he also bring his wife? What if someone threatens her with a firearm? Is Tara Singh foolish enough to put himself in such a predicament?"

Gadar 2 serves as the sequel to the acclaimed film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which premiered in 2001. In this film, Sunny Deol reprises his role as Tara Singh, a truck driver, while Ameesha Patel portrays Sakeena. The narrative is set against the backdrop of the 1947 partition of India. Gadar 2 chronicles Tara Singh's courageous journey across the border to rescue his son, played by Utkarsh Sharma, who has been captured in Pakistan. Released in 2023, the film achieved blockbuster status.
