The first event, which claimed to offer a high-end music festival experience, ended up in chaos, with attendees dealing with terrible conditions and no performances. Back in 2018, McFarland admitted to wire fraud charges linked to the botched festival and received a six-year prison sentence, according to NBC.

When's Fyre Festival 2 happening and where's it going to take place?

Fyre Festival 2 is set to kick off from May 30 to June 2, after its initial launch in 2017 and a one-month delay. McFarland mentioned to Today, “We just needed the extra month to give our partners time to get everything ready.”

While the first festival took place on Great Exuma in the Bahamas, this time it’s moving to Isla Mujeres. McFarland revealed that they’ve brought on an “incredible production company” to take care of everything from start to finish. He added that they’re also working on developing the private island for all the festival fun.

Ticket sales for Fyre Festival 2 are set to kick off on February 24, with 2,000 tickets up for grabs. Prices will vary from $1,400 to a whopping $1.1 million. McFarland mentioned that attendees can enjoy yacht accommodations and have the chance to meet the performing artists, although the lineup hasn’t been announced yet. The festival's founder also mentioned that he’s already sold 100 tickets at $500 each. He described the $1.1 million package, saying, “You’ll be on a boat, enjoying luxury yachts that we’ve partnered with, all docked outside the island.” He emphasized that Fyre isn’t just about luxury; it’s about the adventure. “You’ll be scuba diving with me and hopping around to different islands and countries on small planes.”
