Diljit Dosanjh has recently faced backlash for referring to Punjab as 'Panjab' in a social media post promoting his concert in Chandigarh. Diljit Dosanjh addresses the ‘Panjab’ controversy

On Monday, Diljit Dosanjh utilized X to share a screenshot of a tweet in which he included the Indian Tricolour flag alongside the phrase "Chandigarh Panjab." In addition, the singer composed a comprehensive note to elucidate his position. The note stated, "If I inadvertently omitted the Indian flag while mentioning PANJAB in a single tweet, it is deemed a conspiracy. I also failed to mention it in a tweet regarding Bengaluru. If I refer to Punjab as PANJAB, it is still considered a conspiracy. Whether you write it as PANJAB or PUNJAB, PANJAB WILL REMAIN PANJAB."

He remarked that "Panj Aab," which translates to Five Rivers, deserves recognition. He expressed admiration for those who utilize a foreign language, specifically English, to propagate conspiracy theories. He stated his intention to write "PANJAB" in Punjabi, using the Gurmukhi script, acknowledging that opposition will persist. He questioned how many times they must demonstrate their love for India and urged innovative actions, suggesting that there may be an agenda to fabricate conspiracies about him.

In response, Diljit Dosanjh stated that such matters do not concern him, asserting, "I do not let these things bother me, but when falsehoods are tweeted repeatedly, they can be perceived as truth, so it is important to address them."
