Actor Nick Offerman, widely recognized for his portrayal of Ron Swanson in the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation, is serving as the announcer for the 2025 Oscars this evening. He has succeeded David Alan Grier in this role. Offerman is also noted for his performances in The Last of Us, 21 Jump Street, and Fargo. Last year, he was featured in the dystopian action film Civil War, where he played the President of the United States.

One individual remarked on X, “I thought I was imagining things by hearing Nick Offerman's voice at the Oscars, but I was correct. I can identify Ron Swanson's voice anywhere.”

Another user expressed, “I am genuinely appreciating Nick Offerman’s conviction and authority in the room tonight as the 'voice of god.' I hope he gets involved in some segments tonight, or at least we catch a glimpse of him on camera.”

A third commenter stated, “Nick Offerman providing the voiceovers for the Oscars is a clear indication that an Oscar win is the next milestone in Hollywood's takeover by the Parks and Recreation cast.”

Offerman intentionally mispronounced Amy Poehler's name, prompting laughter from the audience.

Reacting to the same, one X user wrote, “Nick offerman mispronouncing amy poehler’s name oh that’s my parks and recreation family forever.”

Another wrote, “Nick offerman pronouncing Amy poehlers name wrong had me cackling.”
