Nevertheless, during a recent appearance on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast (as reported by People), the actress candidly discussed the emotional difficulties she encountered during the filming process and acknowledged that she "most definitely abused" herself for the sake of the role.

When inquired about her self-care practices and mental health, Florence expressed that "protecting" herself is a lesson she has acquired over time. She noted, "There have been certain roles where I invested too much of myself, resulting in a prolonged period of feeling broken. For instance, during my work on Midsommar, I felt as though I pushed myself to detrimental extremes."

She went on to clarify that while she does not regret taking on that role, she would not wish to repeat the experience. She remarked, "The process of understanding these matters involves recognizing, 'Okay, I cannot subject myself to that again because it was excessive.' However, I reflect on that performance with pride, and I am pleased with what emerged from within me. I do not have regrets. Nevertheless, it is essential to acknowledge certain boundaries regarding self-respect."

The 2019 folk horror film, directed by Ari Aster, features Florence Pugh and Jack Reynor as an American couple who become entangled with a violent cult in rural Sweden.
