Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick recently hit the red carpet together during their press tour for Another Simple Favor. At the London special screening of their movie, the co-stars displayed signs of “awkwardness” and “self-consciousness,” as noted by body language expert Judi James, who analyzed their interactions in an interview with the Daily Mail.

James mentioned to the outlet, “Blake seems to be putting in more effort to appear cheerful and friendly,” in reference to the rumored conflict between the Gossip Girl star and Kendrick.

When discussing the noticeable tension between Lively and the Pitch Perfect actress, James noted, “The pressure to visually counteract rumors of a rift might be causing their stiff poses, as they don’t seem to convey a relaxed relationship at all.”

The expert pointed out that when Lively poses solo, she enters “preen mode,” enjoying the spotlight with hair flicks and confident, self-satisfied smiles.

However, according to James, Lively’s “eyes shine as she works her dramatic leather coat, soaking up the camera’s attention.” She observed that during joint appearances, co-stars usually have a good time, especially after working together for an extended period.

But that didn’t seem to apply to Lively and Kendrick. “While Blake and Anna do have a height difference to navigate, there are few signs of genuine fun or connection,” James remarked, adding that “their bodies adopt stiff angles with no leaning in or playful gestures.”

Moreover, the co-stars appeared to lack “synchronization,” James noted, saying, “Standing almost face-to-face, their arms around each other looked awkwardly placed rather than part of a natural hug.”

The expert also observed that although Lively and Kendrick seemed to be conversing, they were “clearly talking over each other, as both had their mouths open.”
