Prabhas’ upcoming movie with director Hanu Raghavapudi was officially revealed last year, featuring him alongside Iman Esmail, known as Imanvi. The actor has garnered attention following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, where multiple rumors circulated claiming that Imanvi is of Pakistani descent, with her family having connections to the Pakistani military. The actor has now written an extensive note on her Instagram account to respond to the accusations and asserted that these are falsehoods propagated by internet trolls.

Imanvi addresses rumours

Imanvi began by offering her condolences to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. She said, “First and foremost, I want to express my most sincere and heartfelt condolences for the tragic event that took place in Pahalgam. My heart goes out to all those who lost their lives and their loved ones. Any loss of innocent life is tragic and weighs heavy on my heart. I strongly condemn the violent acts. As someone whose mission has always been to spread light and love through art, I hope to see a day soon where we can all come together as one.”

She subsequently highlighted the falsehoods circulated regarding her identity and stated, “I also wish to tackle the falsehoods and rumours that have been inaccurately disseminated about my family and my identity through unreliable news sources and online platforms to incite division and promote hate. To begin with, no one in my family has ever been or is presently linked to the Pakistani military in any manner. This and numerous other untruths have been concocted by internet trolls with the singular aim of inciting hatred. What is particularly disheartening is that credible news organizations, journalists, and individuals on social media have neglected to verify their source material and instead have merely echoed these defamatory claims. ”

‘I am a proud Indian American’

The post further read, “I am a proud Indian American who communicates in Hindi, Telugu, Gujarati, and English. I was born in Los Angeles, California, following my parents' legal immigration to the United States as young individuals. Shortly after, they obtained American citizenship. After finishing my university education in the USA, I embarked on a career in the arts as an actor, choreographer, and dancer. Following significant efforts in this field, I am very thankful to have received chances to collaborate in the Indian film industry. This same film industry has greatly impacted my life, and I aspire to contribute to the remarkable legacy of the pioneers who paved the way before me. As a person with Indian identity and culture deeply embedded in my essence, I wish to utilize this medium as a conduit for unity and divisiveness. ”

She concluded her post by saying, “I will strive diligently to guarantee that this legacy continues through my work and elevates the stories of my Indian heritage. Lots of love, Imanvi. ”

Imanvi is set to star in the forthcoming period drama directed by Hanu. Mythri Movie Makers will be producing the film. It will also feature Mithun Chakraborty and Jaya Prada in significant roles. An excerpt from the synopsis of the story reads, “This historical fiction/alternate history set in the 1940s is the tale of a warrior who emerged from the shadows, arising from a society that believed war was the sole solution to the unaddressed injustices and overlooked truths that history concealed from the world. ”
