With upcoming films such as Metro In Dino and Aap Jaisa Koi slated for release this year, she found herself questioning her capabilities as an actress. Although others may perceive her talent positively, she grapples with her own self-assessment. The actress intentionally avoided leading roles in solo films, as she was reluctant to bear the responsibility and potential disappointment if they did not resonate with audiences. This fear hindered her from fully immersing herself in her craft, and it took time for her to understand that making mistakes and experiencing failure are natural parts of the journey.

Fatima participated in the film Ludo (2020) following her role in Thugs of Hindostan (2018), during which she experienced significant self-doubt. The 33-year-old actress regards Ludo (2020) as a transformative project that altered her outlook. She has come to understand that ultimately, what matters is her commitment to herself and fulfilling her professional responsibilities.
