A complaint has been lodged against film director and choreographer Farah Khan for supposedly referring to Holi as 'a festival for the chhapris (a derogatory term)'. According to ABP News, the FIR was submitted on Friday at the Khar Police Station.

This went down after Farah made a remark during an episode of Celebrity MasterChef on February 20. Vikash Fhatak, who’s more commonly known as Hindustani Bhau, filed the complaint.

Farah Khan offended people's religious feelings

ABP News reported that his lawyer, Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh, mentioned, “My client believes that Farah Khan's comment has offended the religious feelings of Hindus. Referring to a sacred festival as ‘Chhapris’ is really disrespectful and could lead to communal unrest.”

The statement continued, "This situation concerns Ms. Farah Khan, a well-known filmmaker and choreographer in Bollywood, who recently made a deeply disrespectful and offensive comment about the Hindu festival of Holi."

"In light of this complaint, I am seeking justice according to the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and urge your respected office to take legal steps against Khan for her reckless and provocative remarks," it stated. The complaint requested the police to act under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 196, 299, 302, and 353.

Farah hasn't said anything about the situation or her comment yet. She's one of the judges on the cooking competition show, alongside Vikas Khanna and Ranveer Brar.

She kicked off her career as a choreographer, working on some legendary tracks like Dhol Bajne Laga, Chaiyya Chaiyya, Ek Pal Ka Jeena, and Idhar Chala Main Udhar Chala.

Farah is also recognized for directing popular films like Main Hoon Na (2004), Om Shanti Om (2007), Tees Maar Khan (2010), and Happy New Year (2014).
