Actor Vijay Deverakonda was present at the pre-release event of Suriya's film Retro in Hyderabad during the weekend. Although the actor's fervent address concerning the necessity to educate terrorists and his strong desire to travel back in time to hit Aurangzeb garnered attention, a single quiet gesture appears to have touched everyone's hearts.

A video circulating online features Vijay and Suriya sitting next to each other at the Retro event. Shortly after, some young women in traditional langa vonis (half saree) come over to them, wishing to take pictures. When they agree, they opt to kneel next to the actors’ chairs for the photo. As a fan kneels by his chair, Vijay is seen swiftly lifting his feet, unnoticed by those around. He maintains his feet folded and tucked beneath him while more fans come up, greet him, and settle down for the pictures.

The supporters who took the photo with Suriya and Vijay appeared thrilled and couldn’t help but laugh. Posting the image on Threads, one supporter commented, “He shows every girl genuine respect. ” A fan who uploaded the video on X (formerly Twitter) remarked, “Maa Anna Bangaram. kallu ekkada Tagulutundō ani paiki pettukunadu! ! (My brother is gold/precious. He raised his feet so it doesn’t touch them)” Some followers even suggested that ‘The Vijay Deverakonda’ should be referred to as ‘bangarukonda’ (mountain of gold, a term of endearment).

Future projects

Vijay was last spotted in the 2024 movie The Family Star, which got mixed reviews. That same year, he made a brief appearance as Arjuna in Kalki 2898 AD and received praise for his role. Currently, he's filming Gowtam Tinnanuri’s Kingdom alongside Bhagyashri Borse and Satyadev. Plus, he's agreed to work on a project directed by Rahul Sankrithyan that hasn't started production yet.
