After four years of a break, Ushasi Ray is set to be back on television. She was last seen in Kadambini on Zee Bangla. The show that delves into the life of Dr Kadambini Ganguly -- the first female medical doctor in India, was discontinued during the Covid-19 period in 2020. Ushasi, who became a household name after portraying Bakul in Bakulkotha, played the lead.

The actress then took a long break from television and focused on her acting career on OTT. In 2023, her performance in Indranil Roychowdhury’s Chhotolok (Zee5) was liked by viewers and critics alike. Besides, Ushasi was also seen in Hoichoi series like Kumudini Bhavan, Gobhir Joler Mach, Noshtoneer 2, and others. According to sources, she will be back as the lead of a family drama on Star Jalsha.
Furthermore, the sources said that the promo of the series was shot by the end of September. The shooting of the show may start soon after Durga Puja is over. There has been no confirmation from the channel or the actress. She remained unreachable despite multiple phone calls.
