Durgesh Kumar has gained significant recognition for his portrayal of Banrakas in the acclaimed web series, Panchayat. Nevertheless, in a recent interview, Durgesh disclosed that he has not received any audition opportunities in the past year and a half, despite his rising popularity.

Durgesh Kumar on not getting work despite fame

In a recent interview with the Times of India, Durgesh Kumar expressed that his journey has been quite challenging. He noted that while the success of Panchayat is visible to the public, the underlying truth is that, despite 12 years of effort, he continues to face difficulties.

"For the past year and a half, I have not received any audition invitations from prominent production companies. I collaborate with smaller producers who appreciate my abilities. Although the industry acknowledges my contributions, I still find myself pursuing casting directors for opportunities. Despite my work in Highway and Panchayat, I have yet to receive an offer for a leading role from any major production house," he stated.

Kumar additionally stated that he is well-known, yet he has not been presented with any significant opportunities. He persists in auditioning and occasionally secures roles, although the outcomes remain uncertain.

The actor expressed that the films and television shows he participates in receive recognition and accolades, and he often garners admiration from viewers. "Even after 25 years in the industry, I feel I do not receive the acknowledgement I merit. Nevertheless, I am pleased that the audience values my contributions," stated Durgesh.
