The ongoing conflict between Rupali Ganguly, known for her role in Anupamaa, and her stepdaughter Esha Verma shows no signs of resolution. The dispute reignited when an old post by Esha criticizing Rupali resurfaced on social media. In response, the television actress initiated a defamation lawsuit against Esha. Recently, Esha shared an Instagram story in which she referred to Rupali as an "evil step lady," expressing her discontent over the scheduling of the next court hearing on her birthday.

Esha Verma calls Rupali Ganguly 'evil step lady'

Esha Verma publicly criticized Rupali Ganguly in her Instagram stories. Esha, the daughter of Ashwin Verma from his previous marriage to Sapna, expressed her dissatisfaction with Rupali's actions. She wrote, "Thank you to the evil step lady for scheduling the next court date on my birthday. So generous, oh, and hi, thanks for monitoring me and violating social media policies for the last four months (sic)." A screenshot of her story was shared widely online.

Following the viral nature of her post, Esha issued a clarification on her social media account. She explained that her intention was to share her feelings with a close friend, but it inadvertently ended up on her Instagram story.

"I was just typing out my feelings before bed and had meant to send it to a close friend, but it accidentally went to my story. I wasn’t trying to start anything or make this public—it was just me processing my emotions at the moment (sic)," she stated. Esha further noted that she utilizes her social media platforms to connect with friends and express her thoughts.

She also conveyed that the coincidence of the court date falling on her birthday was particularly distressing for her. "I was simply expressing my frustration (sic)," Esha added.

On the professional front, Rupali Ganguly continues to star in Rajan Shahi's show, Anupamaa, where she has held the lead role for nearly five years. The series is broadcast on StarPlus and is available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
