Actor Emraan Hashmi reflected on a period in his career when he was recognized by audiences for his acting abilities beyond his on-screen kissing scenes. In a conversation with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast, The Ranveer Show, Emraan recounted that during a significant peak in his career, he was showered with affection, including flower bouquets and various gifts.

 When inquired about that time frame, Emraan stated, "It spanned from 2008 to 2013. During that period, I delivered four to five consecutive blockbuster films, including Jannat 2, Raaz 2, Raaz 3, The Dirty Picture, Murder 2, and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai. Subsequently, I received a critically acclaimed film, although it performed only moderately at the box office."
