Allu Arjun has found himself at the centre of controversy following the tragic death of a fan in Hyderabad during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. Recently, a video has emerged on social media depicting him returning home after a night spent in custody, where his grandmother is seen becoming emotional and conducting a ritual to protect him from negative influences.
Allu Arjun gets an emotional welcome
Allu Arjun was taken into custody on Friday and subsequently released on Saturday morning. Numerous images and videos depicting his return home emerged on social media, revealing the profound emotions of his family.
One notable video captures the moment he reunites with his grandmother. In the footage, the actor’s grandmother is seen conducting the ‘nazar utarna’ ritual, intended to ward off evil, as he approaches his home.
Following this, Allu Arjun touches his grandmother’s feet, leading to an emotional embrace between them. The video also shows his grandmother in tears. Additionally, another woman is observed performing a similar ritual with a coconut.
Supporters expressed joy and sentimentality upon viewing the video. One individual remarked, “He is fortunate to still have his grandmother,” while another noted, “His grandmother is adorable.”

Allu Arjun’s growing troubles
The actor was taken into custody at his residence on Friday in relation to the death of a fan during the premiere of his film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. A young victim of the stampede remains in critical condition.
The incident occurred on December 4 at the premiere event in Hyderabad, where Allu Arjun was present alongside his family and co-star Rashmika Mandanna. A stampede ensued at the Sandhya Theatre as fans became overly excited by his attendance. This unfortunate event resulted in the death of 35-year-old Revathi, while her son continues to receive critical care in the hospital.
He was released from the Hyderabad jail on Saturday and has since been reconnecting with family members and industry friends. On Sunday, Allu Arjun issued a statement explaining his absence from the hospital visit for the second victim of the stampede.
"Due to the ongoing legal proceedings, I have been advised against visiting him and his family at this time. My thoughts and prayers are with them, and I am dedicated to fulfilling my responsibilities regarding their medical and familial needs," he stated.
