The most recent season of the HBO series The White Lotus garnered a variety of reviews. Now, several weeks following the show's completion, Sam Nivola’s mother, actress Emily Mortimer, has expressed her opinions on the widely discussed intimate scene involving her son. In a conversation with The Times, she described the scene as strange and discussed her son's recent rise to fame.

Emily discusses the personal moment between Sam Nivola

Emily talked about her son Sam’s intimate scene in White Lotus Season 3 and stated, “It’s so wild, all of it. It wasn’t especially crazier than sending my boy off to Thailand for such a long time. Naturally, it was a tad strange, but being married to an actor, we’ve all had to observe each other do odd things. And I had been forewarned — though Sam mentioned that the most challenging part was the initial ten minutes, but they kept replaying. So I had relaxed and then it wasn’t accurate at all. ”

For those who are unaware, Sam portrayed the character Lochlan Ratliff, the youngest member of a wealthy but troubled family. The scene in question depicted Sam’s character in a drug-induced intimate encounter with the girlfriend of a criminal kingpin and his own brother (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son, Patrick). The scene became one of the season’s most discussed moments.

She also reflected on her son’s recent fame, saying, “He just kind of embraces it, which isn’t attributable to either of us. I’m biased since I’m his mum, but he doesn’t require any direction. ”
