Wendy Williams was reportedly transported from her assisted living facility in New York by ambulance after she threw a handwritten note out of her window, pleading for assistance. Authorities were summoned for a wellness check following the incident.

The note, as reported by the New York Post, read, “Help! Wendy!!”

The emergency call was made around 11:15 AM shortly after Williams discarded the note from her fifth-floor room, according to police and law enforcement sources. The former television personality has been diagnosed with dementia and has been residing in the facility's memory care unit while attempting to terminate her court-mandated guardianship. She was later observed at the window, gesturing with her arms while conversing on the phone.

Williams was subsequently seen exiting the facility quietly, accompanied by several police officers, and was assisted into the awaiting ambulance.

A psychiatrist at the New York hospital where Williams was taken has indicated that her mental faculties remain intact. At Lennox Hill, she underwent a psychological assessment known as a “capacity test,” in which she achieved a perfect score of “10 out of 10,” as reported by TMZ. The results of this evaluation are anticipated to be submitted to the judge overseeing Williams’ guardianship proceedings.

This event occurred shortly after it was revealed that Williams is poised to make her television comeback amid her ongoing health challenges. She was slated to appear on ABC’s The View, marking her first daytime television appearance since she took a leave of absence from The Wendy Williams Show four years ago.

Williams has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. She has been engaged in a struggle to terminate the guardianship that has been in place since 2022. Her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, previously stated that Williams had “become cognitively impaired, permanently disabled, and incapacitated” due to her battle with dementia.

Nevertheless, Williams asserts that she is mentally competent. In a recent phone interview with TMZ, she expressed that she feels confined in a “prison” and is “not allowed” to venture outside of her own accord.
