Pathaan was one of the biggest hits of 2023. The action-thriller marked Shah Rukh Khan's blockbuster comeback to movies after his 2018 film Zero. SRK played the lead role in the film and featured alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The cast of Siddharth Anand's 2023 film also included Ekta Kaul. She played the role of Shweta Bajaj, a member of the Joint Operations and Covert Research team. In a recent and exclusive interview with OTTplay, Ekta revealed how SRK took care of her during the film's shoot.

Ekta Kaul on Shah Rukh Khan's caring nature

In conversation with us, Ekta Kaul said working on Pathaan was a 'meditative' experience for her. The actress stated she was taken care of 'like a child' on the set because she had her son Ved with her. When Pathaan's shoot was on, Ekta's son was very young and the actress was three months postpartum.

"I was given two separate rooms. I used to get ready in one room and another room, my child would stay with me. I would be called only 30 minutes before my scene. It wasn't like I had to wait. They would finish my work and pack me up on time," recalled Ekta.

Revealing how SRK took care of her, the actress added, "Even Shah Rukh sir knew about Ved, so he would take care. If we were doing a stunt and if he felt things could get complicated for me since I was three months postpartum, he would tell me 'Raise your hand if you feel uncomfortable, we will get you down'."

When Ekta Kaul broke down on Pathaan set

Continuing the conversation, Ekta stated she once broke down on Pathaan's set when her son Ved was unwell. Considering it, the director's wife Mamta Anand ensured Ekta packed up early that day.

"One day Ved fell sick and when I reached the set, I cried in my room thinking how would I finish today? Because Ved was very young. So, they just packed me up and Mamta said 'Go, we will figure something out! Do only a small and necessary part' and they packed me up," she said while signing off.

For the uninitiated, Ekta and her husband Sumeet Vyas were blessed with their son Ved in 2020.
