Adrishyam 2 - The Invisible Heroes has officially premiered on SonyLIV as of April 4. This series consists of six episodes featuring Eijaz Khan and Pooja Gor, who portray a courageous team of secret agents led by Ravi Verma (Eijaz Khan) and Officer Durga (Pooja Gor). Their mission is to safeguard the nation from perilous adversaries and deceitful schemes. Recently, numerous spy thrillers, including Berlin and Fateh, have been released. In an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Eijaz was questioned about whether the genre has become oversaturated.

Eijaz Khan on whether spy thriller genre is overdone or not

In the interview with OTTplay, Eijaz Khan addressed the question of whether the espionage thriller genre is overdone, given the recent influx of similar films. He responded, "We need more. I love the genre."

He referenced the spy thriller The Agency, featuring Michael Fassbender, expressing his admiration for how the series reveals intricate layers of intrigue until the conclusion.

Eijaz elaborated, "We have barely scratched the surface. Thrillers inherently require a high level of intelligence in both writing and execution, as we must cleverly place easter eggs in locations where they do not appear obvious, yet they must still be present. There is a significant amount of effort that goes into this."

Pooja Gor on rising amount of OTT content

When questioned about whether OTT platforms have reached a saturation point due to the continuous release of content, Pooja Gor remarked, "If you liken OTT to human development, it has not even entered its teenage years; it is still in primary school, in kindergarten. OTT is relatively new, having emerged only a few years ago. With the proliferation of OTT platforms, we now have a multitude of new creators, writers, directors, and actors eager to explore narratives that cannot be conveyed on television or in films due to time constraints."

She further emphasized that OTT platforms provide a unique opportunity to delve deeply into a subject or idea, allowing viewers to consume content in its entirety at their convenience, a phenomenon known as binge-watching. "We have yet to witness the pinnacle of what OTT can offer; the best is still ahead," she remarked.

In the meantime, in Adrishyam 2 - The Invisible Heroes, Eijaz returned to his role as Ravi Verma, while Pooja joined the ensemble as Officer Durga. The cast also features Swaroopa Ghosh, Tarun Anand, Chirag Mehra, Roshnee Rai, Parag Chadha, Zara Khan, and Shriya Jha..
