Comedian Daniel Fernandes recently made light of the ongoing controversy surrounding India's Got Latent during one of his performances. He expressed his support for fellow stand-up comedian Samay Raina amid his challenges and took a swipe at the authorities, reassuring fans not to be concerned.

In a recent performance, a video of which has circulated on social media, Daniel addressed the situation, stating, “There are many fans of Samay in the country who are quite anxious about him. Is that correct? Are you worried for him? You need not be, as given the way matters are handled in this country, all they will likely require from him is a 300-word essay, and he will be free.”
India's Got Latent, a show created and hosted by Samay Raina, is facing backlash due to a comment made by guest Ranveer Allahbadia in the latest episode. Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, made a controversial joke regarding 'watching your parents have sex or joining them.' This remark has drawn significant criticism, leading to multiple FIRs being filed against him, Samay Raina, and other panellists.

In his performance, Daniel Fernandes referenced Ranveer Allahbadia and ridiculed the public outrage and legal actions stemming from his comments. “Have you all been following the news this past week? There’s just one headline dominating, as if all other issues in India have been resolved. Outrage in Indian comedy resembles flu season; every six months, someone watches a video and reacts with, ‘my sentiments,’” Fernandes remarked, further noting, “However, this time the backlash is notably intense. Have you observed? The repercussions of what has transpired are quite severe. Numerous FIRs have been filed, and videos have been removed.”

During a recent performance in Edmonton, Canada, which marked his first since the controversy arose earlier this month, Samay Raina also made light of the situation. A fan named Shubham Dutta shared his experience from the show, quoting Samay as saying, "'Shayad samay kharab chal raha hai mera, par yaad rakhna doston, main samay hoon (Perhaps my time is not good right now, but remember, my friends—I am time itself).'"
In the meantime, the Supreme Court has criticized the show and Allahbadia in an ongoing hearing concerning allegations of obscenity related to the program.
