One of Dheekshith Shetty's forthcoming projects in Telugu is The Girlfriend, directed by Rahul Ravindran, featuring Rashmika Mandanna in the leading role. Dheekshith is cast alongside Rashmika in this film and expresses great pride in her journey from a Kannada actress to a national star. "She is among the most dedicated actors I have encountered," Dheekshith remarked during his appearance on the Rajesh Reveals podcast.

Dheekshith, who took great pride in his strong work ethic, experienced a significant realization upon meeting Rashmika. "She surpasses me considerably in that regard," Dheekshith remarked. For instance, he noted that Rashmika often works nearly non-stop with minimal breaks. "During our filming for The Girlfriend, she was simultaneously engaged in Pushpa 2: The Rule and several Hindi films. Yet, each time she arrived on set, she radiated energy. On one occasion, we had a schedule that ran from 6 am to 2 am the following day. After we finished, she arranged for her trainer to meet her at the gym by 2:30 am, as she needed to uphold a specific physique for Pushpa 2," Dheekshith explained.

Dheekshith: Rashmika treated me as an equal

Rashmika Mandanna, despite her prominent status, remains remarkably humble and approachable, according to the actor, which facilitated a comfortable working relationship. "She mentioned that she had watched Dia and enjoyed Blink. When I presented her with the trailer for KTM, she enthusiastically shared it on her social media platforms. Most significantly, she regarded me as an equal—two actors embodying their respective roles—which is uncommon. Occasionally, one encounters actors who consistently emphasize their superiority or seniority. Rashmika, however, did not exhibit such behaviour," Dheekshith remarks.

Dheekshith remarked that The Girlfriend will significantly impact Rashmika's career, as she will portray a role unlike any she has taken on before. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 14.
