Disha Salian Case: Sushant Singh Rajput’s Former Manager’s Father Seeks Probe After 5 Years
16 days ago | 5 Views
The family of Disha Salian, the former manager of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has filed a petition in court requesting a new investigation into the enigmatic circumstances surrounding her death in June 2020. According to the news agency PTI, Disha Salian's father, Satish Salian, has reached out to the Bombay High Court for this purpose.
Why Disha Salian's father approached the court
The petition requested that the court mandate the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Aaditya Thackeray, a leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), and sought the transfer of the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), as stated by him. Nilesh Ojha, the attorney representing Satish, mentioned that they were in the process of submitting the petition and planned to have it assigned a number at the High Court registry department on Thursday.
About Disha's death
The petition claimed that Disha Salian was subjected to a horrific rape and murder, followed by a politically motivated attempt to conceal the truth to shield certain powerful individuals. The petitioner initially thought that the investigation carried out by the city police was legitimate, but has since come to realize that it was, in fact, a cover-up. The plea stated, "The Mumbai police quickly classified the death as either a suicide or an accidental death, disregarding forensic evidence, circumstantial details, and eyewitness accounts."
How Shiv Sena (UBT) reacted to Satish's plea
A spokesperson for Shiv Sena (UBT) expressed curiosity about the sudden resurgence of the issue after four years, suggesting the possibility of a conspiracy. Kishori Pednekar, the party representative, raised concerns regarding the motives behind Satish's plea.
"There is clearly someone orchestrating this, and a conspiracy is at play. Why has this issue emerged after more than four years? The CID has already conducted an investigation, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to look into the matter," Kishori stated in her response.
More about Disha
Disha passed away on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building located in suburban Malad. Subsequently, the city police filed an Accidental Death Report (ADR) regarding the incident. On June 14, 2020, Sushant was discovered deceased in his apartment in suburban Bandra. Although the city police initially classified it as a suicide, the investigation was later transferred to the CBI.
