Magizh Thirumeni's film Vidaamuyarchi, featuring Ajith Kumar and Trisha Krishnan, hit theaters on Thursday. Director Vignesh Shivan shared his thoughts on the movie in a glowing review on Instagram. Check out what he had to say.

Vignesh shared on his Instagram stories that watching Vidaamuyarchi felt like piecing together a puzzle, with Ajith really shining through his performance. He mentioned, “#vidaamuyarchi is such a gripping thriller! It’s like a puzzle that keeps you engaged from start to finish! AK sir’s presence on screen is so smooth; he really carries the whole film on his shoulders! From the realistic, risky action to the emotional final scene, he plays his character with such honesty! It’s so genuine, and you can’t help but whistle every time he walks in with that amazing score from the king @anirudhofficial! (sic)”

He also gave a shoutout to the director and the entire crew for creating a film that meets international standards, complimenting the performances of the rest of the cast as well. “#magizhthirumeni sir has crafted such a tight screenplay, and the way the shots are executed in such challenging conditions shows the dedication involved! Big thanks to Omprakash sir and Nirav sir for making the film look incredible! Truly on an international level! Fantastic performances from Trisha, Regina, Arjun, Aarav, and everyone else! About Vidaamuyarchi

Vidaamuyarchi follows a guy on a mission to save his wife, who’s been taken by a notorious gang in Azerbaijan. This Tamil version of the 1997 American movie Breakdown started filming in 2023 and wrapped up by 2024. It was originally set to release during Pongal, but after a delay, it finally premiered on February 6. The film got a mix of reviews from both critics and audiences. As per Sacnilk, it made ₹22 crore net in India on its first day.
