Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 faced competition at the box office from Ajay Devgn's Singham Again, as both films premiered on Diwali, November 1. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was directed by Anees Bazmee, while Rohit Shetty directed the Ajay Devgn-led project. In a recent interview, Anees expressed his thoughts on this competition, describing it as 'unfortunate,' as he feels that both films incurred losses to a certain degree.
Anees Bazmee on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 v/s Singham Again
In a discussion with Galatta Plus, Anees Bazmee stated that postponing the release of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was not feasible, as the release date had already been made public. The director indicated that the promotional activities for the film featuring Kartik Aaryan had been strategically organized. Anees further mentioned that there was little he could do, given that there was a strong desire for the film to premiere during the Diwali festival.
In reference to the competition between his film and Ajay Devgn's Singham Again, Anees remarked, "Given their theme, it may have been necessary for them to schedule their release on Diwali. They were justified in their decision. This clash was regrettable, as both films incurred some losses as a result."
The director expressed that certain factors are beyond one's influence and that each film has its predetermined destiny. He believes that every movie ultimately receives what it is meant to achieve. During the discussion, Anees acknowledged that the situation would have been more favourable for both films had they been released independently.
If we had launched a solo release, the business would have experienced a twofold increase, and the same holds true for them as well. I am confident in this belief, remarked Bazmee.
