Sean 'Diddy' Combs was allegedly transported to a hospital on Thursday evening. This reported medical transfer occurs while the controversial hip-hop mogul is incarcerated at a federal prison in Brooklyn, facing multiple charges related to sexual offenses. His trial is set to begin on May 5.

Sources have informed the New York Post and Daily Mail that the 54-year-old rapper was taken to Brooklyn Hospital at approximately 10 p.m. during the night. He was briefly removed from the infamous Metropolitan Detention Centre to undergo an MRI.

Why was Diddy taken to the hospital?

There were initial speculations that the individual known as the 'Bad Boy for Life' was transported to the hospital as a result of his participation in a prison altercation. Some sources even questioned whether an alternative emergency had prompted this medical transfer.

Nevertheless, a subsequent insider provided clarification, stating that Diddy was relocated from the federal facility due to discomfort in his knee. Combs has a well-documented history of knee problems stemming from his involvement in the New York marathon. It is reported that he returned to his prison cell later that same evening following the completion of the MRI.

Diddy's knee issues documented on social media

In 2017, he provided his followers with an update regarding his third knee surgery within a single year. He stated, “I have just undergone my final knee surgery. They claimed I would never run again, but I asserted that the devil is a liar,” in an Instagram post. “Three surgeries in one year! The third time is the charm!!! #Rebirth."

He further expressed, “Do not take the simple things in life for granted. I extend my gratitude to all the surgeons, doctors, and physical therapists. I THANK GOD FOR YOU ALL!,” as reported by Page Six.

This long-standing Instagram post has since been removed, as Combs deleted his entire profile last year, shortly after CNN revealed a 2016 video depicting him violently assaulting his former girlfriend, Cassie, in a hotel in Los Angeles.

Officials knew about Diddy's hospital visit

A representative from the Bureau of Prisons stated to the outlet, “We do not disclose information regarding the conditions of confinement for individuals in our custody, including details about their medical status or medical appointments, due to privacy, safety, and security considerations."

According to a source from The Post, the late-night hospital visit was arranged to prevent unnecessary speculation among inmates and staff. Additionally, a law enforcement source indicated that they were informed of Diddy's hospital visit in advance to prepare for any potential leaks that could lead to disorder or attempts to facilitate his escape.
