Did Tara Sutaria just rubbish a certain casting rumour?

A few days ago, the big news, supposedly from Rocking Star Yash’s next, Toxic, was that Tara Sutaria had been signed up as the second lead. The Geetu Mohandas directorial, according to reports, has Kiara Advani as the leading lady opposite Yash, with Nayanthara playing his sister and Huma Qureshi the antagonist. None of this has ever come officially from the production house, the director or Yash, with all of the casting updates so far being attributed to sources.
Tara Sutaria's Toxic denial
Tara’s casting was also one such ‘according to sources’ report, which, the actress seems to have rubbished now. While she did not name the film, the actress took to Instagram to post that the articles are false and have not been share by her. What confirmed that she was hinting at the reports of Toxic was a post-script that read, “Nobody is second to anyone”.
Kannada superstar Yash’s Toxic has been the subject of the most speculation since the first announcement last year. Interestingly, the team has chosen to not respond to confirm or deny any of these rumoured casting developments. In fact, they have not even officially announced the start of shooting, although reports suggest that the team has been shooting the India portions and that they are set to head off to London for an extended schedule shortly.
On the record, the only piece of information that has come from the production house, KVN Productions, is that Toxic will be in theatres on April 10, 2025. Toxic is Yash’s first film since KGF: Chapter 2. For the longest time, it was believed that the actor was set to collaborate with Mufti maker Narthan for what was then called #Yash19, but that plan changed and the filmmaker began working on the Mufti prequel, Bhairathi Ranagal, with Shivarajkumar.
Geethu, meanwhile, has been quoted as saying that she was looking at making a gangster film with a female perspective and Toxic is said to be that. The buzz is that the film deals with the drug mafia that was prevalent in areas like Goa during the 60s and 70s.
