Shankar's first Telugu film, Game Changer, featuring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, fell short of expectations in several aspects. Despite its substantial budget, various elements, including the music composed by Thaman S and the storyline, received criticism for their lack of quality.

Following a recent interview in which the music composer attributed the songs' shortcomings to the choreographer and the lead actor, speculation has emerged that Ram has unfollowed Thaman on social media.

Did Ram Charan unfollow Thaman S?

Following the circulation of excerpts from Thaman's interview on X (formerly Twitter), an individual shared a screenshot asserting that Ram had unfollowed the music composer. While some expressed scepticism regarding this claim, others were convinced that the actor had indeed unfollowed him after the interview was released.

Nevertheless, a representative from Ram Charan's team informed Hindustan Times, "The assertion that Ram Charan unfollowed Thaman S is false, as he never followed him on X or Instagram to begin with. He has a very limited number of followers on both platforms, primarily consisting of family members. This is merely a rumor."

What did Thaman say about Game Changer?

After the songs from Game Changer failed to gain traction, Thaman altered his perspective. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, he shared insights on what contributes to a song's virality, while also making a pointed remark about the film.

He stated, “I firmly believe that success is not solely dependent on the music director. I can achieve 25 million views, but beyond that, it needs to resonate on Reels. Unfortunately, I overlooked that aspect in Game Changer. The dance master and the lead actor must also share the responsibility. None of the songs featured a compelling hook-step. If executed well, the cameraman will capture it effectively.”

Ram's fans expressed confusion and discontent over his comments, especially since Thaman had previously lauded the film's choreography during his appearance on Indian Idol Telugu season 3 prior to the film's release. While he specifically criticized the songs Jaragandi and Raa Macha Macha in the interview, he had previously remarked on the show, “I’ve seen the visuals of the songs, and they look fantastic. We haven’t released the hook step yet, but Prabhu Deva master choreographed the song, and it has such a wonderful vibe.”
