Filmmaker Karan Johar recently made a striking entrance as the showstopper at Lakme Fashion Week. However, it was his walk that truly captivated the audience, reminiscent of Kangana Ranaut's iconic runway stride in the 2008 film Fashion, as noted by Diet Sabya. Additionally, fans remarked that Karan Johar excelled as the showstopper at Lakme Fashion Week, with some stating, "He outshone his nepo girls."

On Saturday, the well-known Instagram account Diet Sabya utilized their Stories feature to highlight a notable resemblance between Karan's recent fashion appearance and a scene from the 2008 movie Fashion, which starred Kangana Ranaut.

They posted a comparison image showcasing Karan on the runway alongside Kangana's runway scene from the film, noting the striking similarity in the background.

Additionally, they shared a screenshot of a direct message from a fan who remarked, “Rahul Arora show chal raha tha yahan (Rahul Arora's show was going on here),” referencing Samir Soni’s character in the movie. In response, Diet Sabya humorously commented, “Cackling because the set design is similar.”

Under the direction of Madhur Bhandarkar, Fashion depicted the journey of an aspiring model as she maneuvered through the ruthless realm of the fashion industry. The cast included Mughda Godse and several actual models portraying themselves. In this film, Kangana Ranaut portrayed the character of Shonali Gujral, a model facing personal challenges. Both Kangana and Priyanka Chopra received Filmfare Awards for their outstanding performances in the movie.

On March 29, Karan captivated the audience in a striking black outfit as he took center stage as the showstopper for the renowned designer duo Falguni Shane Peacock at Lakme Fashion Week. The filmmaker donned a black sheer shirt, complemented by matching trousers and a black blazer embellished with rose details. Notably, his black nail polish also drew significant attention. He completed his ensemble with stylish glasses and black footwear.

Many social media users praised his appearance and runway performance, although some expressed their dissatisfaction. In addition to Karan, actress Tamannaah Bhatia also garnered attention for her outfit as she graced the runway for Falguni Shane Peacock.

Karan Johar’s upcoming projects

At present, Karan is anticipating the launch of his forthcoming project, Kesari Chapter 2. The film features Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday in prominent roles. It is inspired by the book The Case That Shook The Empire, authored by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, and narrates the tale of barrister C Sankaran Nair, who challenged the British Raj to reveal the true events surrounding the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The film is slated for theatrical release on April 18.

Additionally, he is supporting the production of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, which stars Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, this romantic comedy also includes Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, and Maniesh Paul in significant roles, with a release date set for September 12, 2025.
