Did Allu Aravind Subtly Shade Dil Raju Over Game Changer Flop? Here's What the Buzz Is About

2 months ago | 5 Views

Allu Aravind is preparing for his upcoming production, Thandel, a romantic drama directed by Chandoo Mondeti and featuring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi. During a pre-release event held on Sunday, the seasoned producer made a pointed remark regarding the recent underperformance of S. Shankar's action film, Game Changer, which stars Ram Charan and Kiara Advani and is produced by Dil Raju.

What Allu Aravind said

In a video circulating on X, Allu Aravind was heard commenting in Telugu at the event, “Dil Raju recently made history. One of his films was like this (gestures downward, alluding to Game Changer), while another was like this (gestures upward, referring to Sankranthi Vastunam). He faced an Income Tax raid. A lot transpired in just a week,” he remarked with a smile.

The online community did not take kindly to Aravind's jab at Dil Raju. One user on X even resurfaced an old video of Aravind's son, actor Allu Arjun, admitting in Telugu, “I once celebrated when a film flopped.” Another user commented on that video, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” A third user remarked, “Are they mocking Dil Raju now? Hahaha,” while another added, “@AlwaysRamCharan, do you realize how they are relishing your film's failures?”

In defense of Allu Aravind

Conversely, many came to Allu Aravind's defense. One user contended, “Not a single appreciation tweet from any megastar for the success of Pushpa 2, yet Allu Arjun and his father are expected to always support megastars. What nonsensical reasoning?” Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, became the highest-grossing Indian film domestically after its release last year. In contrast, Game Changer, which debuted over a month after Pushpa 2, ultimately failed at the box office.

In other news, Allu Aravind's forthcoming production, Thandel, is scheduled to hit theaters on February 3. Allu Arjun was anticipated to attend the film's pre-release event as a special guest on Sunday; however, he was unable to attend due to severe gastritis following his return from an overseas shoot.
