During the event, the director of Maharaja expressed his admiration for Anurag by stating, "I hold Anurag sir in high regard. Not long ago, I attended his daughter's wedding in Mumbai, where he shared that Iñárritu had extended an offer for a role after viewing Maharaja. Upon hearing this, I was at a loss for words. It brought me great joy. My affection for him is profound."

There has yet to be any formal announcement regarding this matter, and Anurag Kashyap has not commented on the project to date. Nevertheless, in October of the previous year, Variety reported that Alejandro González Iñárritu is preparing to commence filming his next English-language feature, which will feature Tom Cruise in the lead role. The confirmed cast members at this time include Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, and Sophie Wilde.
