Rajinikanth celebrated his 74th birthday on December 12, receiving an outpouring of well-wishes from a multitude of celebrities. His former son-in-law, Dhanush, also took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his heartfelt birthday wishes to his ‘thalaiva’.

Dhanush’s birthday wishes for Rajinikanth

Dhanush shared a heartfelt message referring to Rajinikanth as a ‘superstar’ and ‘thalaiva’. He expressed, “Wishing a happy birthday to the one and only, the extraordinary SUPERSTAR .. the phenomenon that has transformed mass appeal and style .. my thalaiva @rajinikanth sir.” accompanied by red heart emojis.

Dhanush has been an admirer of Rajinikanth for many years, predating his marriage to Aishwarya in 2004. The couple separated in 2024. One fan remarked, “Fanboy D is expressing his wishes for the Superstar.” Another added, “A genuine fanboy.” An X user noted, “A true fanboy moment.”

A multitude of other prominent figures extended their birthday wishes to Rajinikanth. Kamal Haasan expressed his sentiments on X in Tamil, stating, “Happy birthday to my dear friend, Superstar @rajinikanth. Mammootty shared a nostalgic photograph of the two, accompanying it with the message, “Happy Birthday Dear @rajinikanth. May you persist in inspiring millions as you have always done in the years ahead. Wishing you everlasting happiness and health.”

Mohanlal expressed his admiration for Rajinikanth, stating, “Wishing a very happy birthday to you, esteemed Rajinikanth Sir! With much love and respect.”

Vijay conveyed his birthday wishes through his political party's account, stating, “Respected superstar Mr. @rajinikanth, I extend my heartfelt wishes for a joyous birthday. I pray that God grants you good health and a long life.”

Jackie Shroff shared a nostalgic photograph of the two, captioning it with the phrase, “Long Live,” accompanied by a red heart emoji.

Venkatesh expressed his sentiments in a comparable post, stating, “Wishing a very happy birthday to the esteemed @rajinikanth garu! I extend my heartfelt wishes and hope this year brings you immense joy!”

Rajinikanth was most recently featured in the film Vettaiyan this year, portraying a cop who transforms following an unexpected event. The film also included performances by Amitabh Bachchan and Fahadh Faasil. Currently, he is in the process of filming Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, alongside Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Reba Monica John.
