Actor and choreographer Prabhu Deva hosted the Vibe Live In Dance Concert in Chennai on February 22. The event attracted numerous celebrities, including Dhanush, SJ Suryah, and Vadivelu, who participated in spontaneous performances during the concert held on Saturday.

Dhanush dances to Rowdy Baby

Prabhu, Jani Master, and Baba Bhaskar were the choreographers behind Dhanush’s popular track, "Rowdy Baby," from the 2018 film Maari 2. When Dhanush was invited to the stage during the concert, he was encouraged to join Prabhu for a performance. The actor consented, and fan-captured videos of their dance to the song circulated online. One particular video depicts Dhanush initially dancing with hesitation before fully enjoying the moment.

During the concert, Dhanush also expressed his admiration for Prabhu, stating, “There’s a clear difference between before and after Prabhu Deva; that’s what any dancer says. Isn’t it true? He made all of India take notice. He made small children dance and brought people to theatres with his moves…he is a legend who brought about the evolution of dance choreography. I am very happy to be here today.”

Additional footage from the concert features Prabhu engaging with Vadivelu, his long-time collaborator, as "Petta Rap" plays, and SJ Suryah performing another piece. Suryah even joined Prabhu for a dance after stepping off the stage, while Vadivelu observed.

Recent work

Dhanush was last seen in the 2024 films "Captain Miller" and "Raayan," which he also directed. This year, he directed "Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam," featuring his nephew Pavish in his debut role. Dhanush is currently directing another film titled "Idly Kadai," which stars him alongside Nithya Menen. He is also set to appear in Sekhar Kammula’s "Kubera," featuring Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna, and Jim Sarbh, in addition to Aanand L Rai’s "Tere Ishk Mein" with Kriti Sanon.
