Numerous fans expressed their disappointment when Hollywood actress Demi Moore did not receive the Best Actress award at the 2025 Oscars, which went to Mikey Madison for her role in Anora. However, Demi herself was not disheartened by the loss; she acknowledged that she had anticipated Mikey's victory.

Demi Moore knew Mikey Madison would win

In a conversation with Time magazine, Demi reminisced about the moment she experienced defeat. She expressed that she was not heartbroken following the announcement. “I leaned over and whispered to my manager, ‘I think it’s going to Mikey.’ I can’t explain why I felt that way, but I did. I remained composed and calm. I didn’t feel devastated or any of those emotions. I simply had faith and continue to trust in whatever will unfold,” Demi shared.

Many had expected that Demi, 62, would receive the award after her victories at the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards, and SAG Awards for her role in The Substance. Following the Oscar ceremony, Demi reflected on the whirlwind of the past few months and offered her congratulations to Mikey.

She stated, “As this awards season concludes, I am filled with gratitude for this journey. It has been an incredible experience, and we are just beginning! I am thankful for my team, my fellow nominees, and everyone who has contributed to making this experience so joyful and uplifting… And a heartfelt congratulations to Mikey Madison — I look forward to seeing what you accomplish next.”

Demi’s role in The Substance 

Demi received a nomination for her performance in the horror film The Substance, in which she portrayed an aging actress who undergoes injections to revert to a younger self. In a recent interview, she discussed the significance of this role. Demi remarked, “There is a truly fascinating element to reshaping our perception of women in their 60s—what that truly signifies, the constraints society has placed upon us, and even more crucially, the limitations we have set for ourselves.”
