1 month ago | 5 Views
Actor Deepika Padukone has opened up about a tough choice she often faces: deciding between her career hub, Mumbai, and her hometown, Bengaluru. She admits that picking one city over the other is challenging since both have significantly shaped her life over the past 39 years.
Deepika's tough choice: Mumbai or Bengaluru?
On Wednesday, Deepika shared a video on Instagram where she expresses her affection for both cities while getting her hair done. When asked, “Bombay or Bengaluru?” she reflects on her feelings.
When someone off-camera inquires if she misses Corner House, a beloved dessert place from her hometown, Deepika grins and replies, "I do miss it, but I’m actually kind of relieved there isn’t one in Mumbai because that would take some serious willpower."
Reflecting on her time in Bengaluru, Deepika, who welcomed her daughter Dua last year, said, “Every time I return to Bengaluru, it feels like home. This is where I spent a big part of my life, where I grew up, made friends, went to school and college—those formative years and experiences are all tied to this place."
However, her affection for Mumbai is equally strong. The actress, who is married to Ranveer Singh, acknowledges, “Mumbai is where my professional journey started, and it feels like home now. The energy in Mumbai is so unique, making it really hard to choose one city over the other. Both have played a huge role in shaping my 39 years."
The post gets an extra touch of nostalgia with a heartfelt montage showcasing rare childhood, school, and college photos from her time in Bengaluru, beautifully blended with throwback images from her early modeling career in Mumbai.
In the video caption, she shared: “A question I get asked all the time…Bengaluru or Mumbai?"
