Kiccha Sudeep's nephew, Sanchith, announced his intention to make his directorial debut and act in the film titled Jimmy in early 2023. Having taken initial steps in direction by co-directing Ambi Ning Vayassaytho alongside Gurudutha Ganiga, he released a teaser to mark his entry as both director and actor. However, since that announcement, there has been a lack of updates regarding the project, leading to speculation that it may have been shelved, particularly after a new acting opportunity was revealed for him.

Sanchith, who plans to use the screen name Sanchii, is set to star in an untitled film directed by newcomer Viveka, which will be produced by Priya Sudeep's new production company, Supriyanvi Productions, in collaboration with KRG Studios. Filming is scheduled to commence in early February, coinciding with the title reveal for the actor's birthday.

Sanchith: Jimmy will be my 3rd or 4th film

Regarding the status of Jimmy, Sanchith addressed the ongoing rumors during the auspicious ceremony for his new project, clarifying that the film has not been abandoned; rather, it is currently on hold, with plans to revisit it soon. While developing the script for Jimmy, Sanchith recognized that the project's scope had significantly expanded.

"Since this is intended to be my debut film, I did not wish to compromise on any aspect, so I requested the producers, KP Sreekanth and Lahari Velu, for additional time to refine it. They readily agreed, on the condition that I would eventually produce the film at the scale it demands. Given the film's length, the production will require considerable time, and as the director, I must be involved throughout the entire process. We have now agreed to approach Jimmy as my third or fourth film," Sanchith stated.
