Telugu actress Sumaya Reddy is set to make her debut as a heroine, producer, and writer with the upcoming film Dear Uma, which is scheduled for release on April 18th. The film features Prithvi Amber in the lead male role. Nagesh serves as the line producer, while Nithin Reddy takes on the role of executive producer. The screenplay, dialogues, and direction are crafted by Sai Rajesh Mahadev. The cinematography, known for its exceptional quality, is handled by the esteemed Raj Thota, and the music is composed by the acclaimed Radhan. A pre-release event was held on Wednesday to promote the film.

During the event, Sumaya Reddy expressed her pride in representing Anantapur, stating, “I am honoured to represent Anantapur. From the initial coconut breaking ceremony to the pumpkin breaking, the media has been incredibly supportive – thank you for your encouragement. The media is the true guest of honour at our event. Sai Rajesh garu has articulated everything I wished to convey. Telugu women are increasingly making their mark in the industry. I have taken a significant step by producing this film, and I hope to garner everyone's support. A short film I previously wrote and directed received positive feedback. Subsequently, I collaborated again with Sai Rajesh garu on Dear Uma. I am grateful to Madhu and Chakravarthy for their unwavering support. It was thanks to Naveen garu that Radhan sir joined our team. Everyone involved treated this project as if it were their own dream. Just as there is often a woman behind every man's success, there is frequently a man behind a woman's success – Nagesh has been with me from the very beginning of this journey. If you do not advocate for yourself, no one else will. I have dedicated significant effort to bringing this project to fruition. Dear Uma will be released in theatres on April 18th. I encourage everyone to watch it and help make it a success.”

Prithvi Amber, the principal actor, expressed his enthusiasm about working on Dear Uma, stating, "It has been a wonderful experience collaborating on this project. I am grateful to the entire team for their unwavering support. My previous film, Dia, was well-received here, which I truly appreciate. Although I initially had limited knowledge of Telugu, I am currently improving my skills. Sumaya Reddy dedicated significant effort to this film. I encourage everyone to watch Dear Uma on April 18."

Director Sai Rajesh remarked, "Our team has put in tremendous effort on Dear Uma. I previously worked as an associate on Burra Katha, where I first met Sumaya Reddy. We later teamed up on a short film. During the COVID lockdown, she crafted a story that resonated with me, leading to the inception of Dear Uma. We presented this narrative to various individuals, and it underwent several transformations. Consequently, Sumaya Reddy chose to produce the film herself, driven by her desire to convey a powerful social message. Gradually, more members joined our team. The cinematography by Raj Thota and the music by Radhan have turned out exceptionally well. The performances by Sumaya Reddy and Prithvi Amber are sure to engage audiences. The film is set to release on April 18. We lack substantial backing and rely on the support of both the media and the audience. This film holds significant importance for society, which is why we created it. Please make sure to see Dear Uma."

Executive producer Nithin Chandra Reddy remarked, “My sister, Sumaya Reddy, has created a film of significance with Dear Uma. In today's cinema, films that deliver such powerful messages are increasingly uncommon. I take pride in being involved in this project.”

Line producer Nagesh stated, “Sumaya Reddy is a close friend of mine. She has often shared her aspirations and the story she wanted to tell. She has poured her heart and soul into this film. Dear Uma is set to release on April 18th. I encourage everyone to watch and support it.”

Jyothi Reddy, Sumaya’s mother, expressed her emotions, saying, “My daughter Sumaya Reddy’s Dear Uma has turned out beautifully. She is my inspiration—a heroine, producer, and writer. After more than a decade of hard work, she has reached this milestone. Instead of waiting for opportunities, she created them. I urge you to watch Dear Uma on April 18th.”

Comedian Prudhvi commented, “Sai Rajesh has skillfully crafted Dear Uma. The story by Sumaya Reddy is truly impactful and has been presented with great strength. It reminds me of the film Ganesh by Venkatesh, which addressed the healthcare system. Dear Uma explores a similar theme and serves as an awareness-driven film. I encourage everyone to watch and support it.”

Lyricist Poorna Chary shared, “I had the privilege of writing some meaningful, self-empowering songs for Dear Uma. The music by Radhan and the vocals by Karthik have enriched the overall experience. Producer Sumaya Reddy and director Sai Rajesh created this film with the purpose of delivering an important message. Dear Uma, It will be released on April 18th. Please watch it and help make it a success.”
