Producer Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers caught many off guard earlier this month by announcing that David would be making his acting debut. According to reports, the cricketer received ₹3 crore for his cameo in the Telugu film. It is also noted that he filmed his scenes last year during the IPL 2024.

Following this revelation by Ravi, David traveled to India to engage in promotional activities for the film in Hyderabad. He participated in pre-release events and created Instagram Reels alongside the lead actors. However, his co-star Rajendra Prasad found himself in hot water due to remarks he made about David during the pre-release event, which led to an apology later on.

About Robinhood

Robinhood marks Venky's third cinematic endeavor following Chalo, which debuted in 2018, and Bheeshma, released in 2020, both of which featured Nithiin. Rashmika Mandanna, who appeared in these previous films, was initially slated to take on the lead role in Robinhood; however, she exited the project due to scheduling conflicts, leading to Sreeleela being cast in her place.

Prior to its release, the film encountered controversy surrounding the special number Adhi Dha Surprisu, featuring Ketika Sharma, which faced criticism for its choreography. The film's music was composed by GV Prakash Kumar, and it includes notable performances from Vennela Kishore, Rajendra Prasad, Devdatta Nage, and Shine Tom Chacko in significant roles.

Robinhood premiered in theaters on March 28, just before Ugadi, and garnered a mix of reviews from both critics and audiences.
