Pakistani actor Danish Taimoor, who gained fame from his roles in popular dramas like Ab Dekh Khuda Kya Karta Hai, Rehaai, and Deewangi, recently faced criticism for his remarks on polygamy while appearing alongside his wife Ayeza Khan on the show Mehfil-e-Ramzan.
Danish's remarks that triggered a strong reaction
Danish talked about having the option to marry four times but decided against it out of love and respect for Ayeza. He mentioned, "I have the permission for four marriages; not going through with it is a different story. This permission is granted by Allah, and no one can take that away from me. But out of love and respect for Ayeza, I want to spend my life with her for now."
However, his remarks didn’t sit well with many online, sparking a wave of criticism. One user commented, "The word 'for now' is telling. Just look at his wife—she's keeping her cool while he says this nonsense. It's disrespectful." Another added, "I can't believe he would say something like this! He just lost a fan in me."
One person remarked, "What a foolish thing to say on TV. He really embarrassed his wife." Another user expressed, "This is appalling. I feel sorry for Ayeza. She deserves so much better—he's toxic." Yet another commenter pointed out, "Throughout the interview, Danish made several statements that reveal his narcissism."
