Reflecting on her love story, Dalljiet remarked, "At the time I met Shalin, I was engaged in two different shows, which limited our interactions to brief moments over coffee. Our so-called dating experience did not allow us to truly get to know one another; it was more about sharing fleeting moments together. Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to spend significant time together, and I often wish I had learned more about him, as it might have changed the course of our relationship."

I took my time to heal. For over two to three years, I was in denial about the end of my marriage; the mere mention of divorce was distressing, often leading me to tears. At that time, Jaydon was just a baby, making the situation even more challenging. I would feel deeply hurt if anyone attempted to flirt with me, as I still perceived myself as married. Eventually, I began to seek companionship, motivated by the desire for Jaydon to witness a typical family dynamic. Consequently, I explored various dating platforms in my search."

Additionally, the actress disclosed that although Shalin Bhanot was present during those nine years, he did not take an active role in their son's life and would only visit sporadically. In response to the allegations, Nikhil Patel addressed the situation in an interview with Etimes, clarifying that their marriage lacked legal recognition. He stated, “We conducted an Indian wedding ceremony in Mumbai. While it held cultural importance, it was not legally binding. This ceremony was meant to provide reassurance to Dalljiet’s family regarding her relocation to Kenya.”
