Netflix India stirred up quite the buzz with all the memes and jokes about Urvashi Rautela missing from the OTT release poster of Daaku Maharaaj. It looks like they finally realized their mistake. But their recent post featuring Urvashi not just once, but twice, only sparked even more laughter and jokes from fans.
Urvashi Rautela finally gets some recognition
Urvashi was left out of the Daaku Maharaaj poster that the OTT platform shared, but she made a splash in a follow-up post for the film. “Check out the forces behind the fear (with some eye and fire emojis) Watch Daaku Maharaaj on Netflix, dropping on February 21 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi! #DaakuMaharaajOnNetflix.” Although the post featured the entire cast, people online found it amusing that Urvashi got a shout-out twice.
A user on Instagram said, “She’s the first actress featured on the first slide and the only one to be mentioned TWICE in the post about the 105 crore movie.” Another commenter added, “Finally, the first woman from Daaku Majaraj is getting the recognition she’s earned.” One user even referred to it as the ‘fastest correction.’ “At last! Urvashi is getting her due,” another person chimed in, while someone else noted, “The admin had to put Urvashi’s post at the top after taking her out of the movie title photo.” One person joked, “The only real force behind Daaku Maharaj, aka the 105 crore hit, is Urvashi.”
The first announcement
Netflix dropped some exciting news on Sunday, revealing that Daaku Maharaaj will hit OTT on February 21. They also shared a poster featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna, Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal, and Shraddha Srinath. Fans quickly noticed that Urvashi was missing from the poster, leading to some funny reactions. Some people were curious about the absence of the ‘lead actress,’ while others joked about her being the ‘first actress’ to not appear on a ₹105 crore film poster.
Despite the criticism she and Balakrishna received for their dance moves in the song Dabidi Dibidi, Urvashi had been actively promoting the film after its theatrical release on January 12. She faced backlash for not taking the attack on Saif Ali Khan seriously and instead focusing on the film's box office performance. Additionally, she was called out for mentioning the Rolex her parents gifted her. The film raked in ₹90 crore in India and ₹125.8 crore globally, as reported by Sacnilk.
